Streaming MP3 Audio Here at MindState, we suggest that you use the mp3 format to stream audio. It provides great compression and audio quality. You can steam the audio by creating a text file called an .m3u file. The .m3u contains the URL to the mp3 file. This allows the mp3 to be streamed instead of downloaded.
